"The parish of St Antonin Noble Val is characterised by the exceptional ecological richness of its flora & fauna". This was the wording used when the area won the European prize for "nature 2000" in 2012.

We are within the parish & just 4 miles from the 12th century town of St Antonin Noble Val. Within the medieval town, apart from the many beautiful old features, you can find lots of restaurants & bars, two supermarkets, an organic wholefood shop & numerous boutiques.

The town is built along the banks of the beautiful river Aveyron at the head of the stunning cliffscapes of the Gorges de L'Aveyron. The river boasts many varieties of fish including salmon. Kingfishers & herons are frequently seen & otters live in the quieter reaches. There are rare butterflies, 8 species of bat, a large colony of peregrine falcons & "remarkable quantities of orchids" to be found amongst the 12000 hectares of oak & box forests & limestone pavement which make up this protected area.
